LHA clawback - time limit

AW

2 February 2010

Is there any time-limit after which the council can't clawback LHA paid direct to the landlord?

My tenant moved out prior to the end of her 6-month lease 20 July 09. The council paid up to that date.

I have just received a request for monies to be reimbursed to the council because it has been discovered the tenant was not entitled to monies after 6 July.

Before handing over a cheque I wanted to ensure there wasn't a period after which they can't request a refund. You can but hope.
