Estate agent confesses - August / September 2002
An RLA member and estate agent is confessing all in his latest book, Save Thousands Selling Your Home Yourself.
This self-help book covers all aspects of selling including internal preparation, marketing, valuation, acquiring viewers and erecting 'for sale' signs right through the process from conducting viewings to receiving offers, negotiating an agreed price and achieving completion. The author, Tony Booth, said: 'the skills needed can be acquired easily and there is a distinct advantage to sitting in the driving seat, rather than have an agent force you in directions you may not necessarily wish to take. Even if, after reading my book, people still decide to use an estate agent, it will help them understand what he is meant to be doing in return for his commission. This can be very useful when things seem to be moving all too slowly'.
He is already working on his next title, Letting Property Without An Agent.
