Insulating the property value - August / September 2002

A comparison by the Insulated Render and Cladding Association suggests that dwellings with cavity wall insulation use 55 per cent of the energy consumed by uninsulated properties.

The association estimates that it would cost £30,000 million to bring every British home up to standard, but that this would be matched by a similar increase in property values, making the savings made by tenants a bonus.

Where houses do not have cavity walls, they can be insulated by the application of an outside insulating render or cladding. Contact the IRCA on (01428 654011).
