RLA BRIEFING - May / June 2005
Lobbying update
The RLA continues to lobby on behalf of its members, most recently regarding disability discrimination. This legislation is at the consultation stage and our detailed response makes it clear that any legislation must be fair, not financially prohibitive, well drafted and introduced without undue haste. The RLA also continues to have an input into the drafting of the Housing Act. If any members are keen to have an input into further lobbying, please contact the office.
Success at Homebuyer Show
The RLA exhibited again at Homebuyer Show at ExCeL, London. Business was brisk on all three days. Women are the stars The RLA recently published an article in this magazine about women landlords. BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hourpicked up the story and RLA member Jennifer Wildblood was profiled, while other RLA women members were profiled in local press.
