Manchester postcode district M11 featured second from bottom in a list of lowest average property prices by postal area published by HM Land Registry last month.
Average price in M11during 1998 was £20,313, representing continuation of a steady decline since 1995, when the average was £22,157. M12 and M18 areas featured on previous lowest price lists, but not that for 1998.
Nationwide the average price of properties sold in 1998 was close to £84,000 - £57,475 for those in the north west, a rise of 3.4 per cent on the 1997 average.
