National Approved Lettings Scheme (NALS)
The Dispute Service Limited is pleased to announce that it has reached agreement with the NALS that the latter will be an Approved Body. The annual subscription for NALS members who join the Tenancy Deposit Scheme will be reduced from the standard £997 per office for agents belonging to accreditation schemes, to £818.
Agents
Other fees for agents from 6 April 2007 (exclusive of VAT, per office per year):
Members of self-regulatory bodies |
£521.00 |
Members of accreditation schemes (non-approved) |
£997.00 |
Members of agents’ trade associations (non-approved) |
£1,243.00 |
Unaffiliated agents |
£1,609.00 |
Agents can, of course, recharge the subscription across their portfolio. This will not be onerous to their landlords as it will work out at very little for individual properties.
Membership subscriptions for agents have been calculated on the basis of available information concerning the average numbers of tenancies arranged at each branch. Where applicants generate significantly greater numbers of tenancies from one or more lettings offices, The Dispute Service Ltd reserves the right to negotiate fees individually.
Landlords
Fees for landlords from 6 April 2007 (exclusive of VAT, per property per year):
Corporate landlords |
On application |
Members of landlords’ trade associations |
£40.00 |
Unaffiliated landlords |
£95.00 |
Fees for members of landlord accreditation schemes will be determined following discussions with Accreditation Network UK.
For affiliated agents and landlords, fees may be reduced if the organisations to which they belong are Approved Bodies (please see the Rules of the Scheme). The Dispute Service Ltd is in discussion with a number of other prospective Approved Bodies and further information will be posted on this website in due course.
The service is free to tenants.
