Improvements to fire safety
The RLA has been instrumental in ensuring that Guidance was put in place to clarify responsibilities between various authorities as to fire enforcement. There has been a confusing dual role both for local fire and rescue services and local Councils. We have now been able to ensure greater clarity was provided. Likewise, the publication of the recent LACORS Fire Safety Guidance has provided a starting point to ensure more consistent and risk based proportionate level of requirements as to fire safety in residential accommodation.
