Our tenants have eventually left, 6 months after being given Notice to Quit, and only when we were about to go to Court to regain possession. The property was left in a very poor state, doors etc damaged and the garage door ripped off it's hinges. We know Police have been in attendance at the property on countless occassions - and the tenants claimed that the damage garage door was nothing to do with them (even though they were aware of drink/drug parties there which included the tenants).
Is there any way of getting the Police to disclose how many times they attended the property and why? We will need this information as we expect the tenant to refuse our claim for damages caused to the garage door, when we take them to the Small Claims Court.
