Hi, if a husband has bought a property with a residential mortgage in his own name, while being married, does the wife have any right over the ownership of the property?
He has permission to let from the Mortgage lender. He plans to rent the property. But in order to minimise tax liability from rental income, he would like to add his wife as a non-tax payer- so how to make it joint ownership? She will be responsible for finding tenants, admin work, and management of the let.
Can he add her name on the Deeds only so that she can have benefitial interest and how can this be done?
Does he need to add her on the mortgage as well? or that is not necessary?
