Despite asking for outdoor shoes to be removed, the dirty stair carpet says differently.
I suppose I could steam clean [again] using a professional team, in an occupied house that's a problem as freshly cleaned carpet is susceptible to attracting dirt.

Darker carpet, say a darker flecked grey would be better than dark beige I suppose. Just wondering if anyone had tried laminated stair treads, or any other innovation. The clatter of feet on an un-carpeted landing & stair cases may not be so popular in a HMO. Once down, it's down & a bit unforgiving when trips occur.
Thanks in advance for your pearls of wisdom.
