After advice by the RLA helpline in July I issued a Section 21(1) to my tenant. Two months later it is clear my tenant is unlikely to move out due to the guidance given to them by Wilts council. I spoke to the helpline again today to be told that the law changes on the 1st Oct and my Section 21(1) will be thrown out. The helpline was unaware of this 2 months ago. Just a warning to anyone else in that position - go back and check your paperwork if you have recently issued a notice. I have learnt a hard lesson: Don't rely on the helpline - get a qualified solicitor from the start.
