Please could you help with a couple of things for my tax return. I am filing it online.

I made an insurance claim and I understand that this income jhas to be declared. As there is no separate box for it in the online form I have included it in the income from property box including rental income. Is this correct? (Can't get through to hmrc today - they're on strike !) Can I apply the 10% wear and tear allowance to the whole amount or just the amount which is actual rent ?

I had some sick leave last year and my emploeyr claimed Statutory sick pay for me (but continued to pay my salary) - should I put this on the form ?

Your help will be gratefully appreciated
