I have a property that needs to be rewired, it's not urgent but I really would like to get it done. The property is currently tennanted. The property will need to be vacated for approx 2 weeks while the work takes place. My question is about the tenants. Do I ask them to move out, suspend their rent for 2 weeks until they can move back. Do I have to pay for alternative accommodation or do they? They are not pleased about moving out but a the same time they have also requested the rewire is done. Should I just wait until the end of the tenancy or serve them notice? OR is this something I have to sort out with them and come to some sort of agreement or am I legally bound to do something. Any advice will be much appreciated.
