Our tenants refuse to allow our nominated gas engineer to make an appointment to access the property for the gas safety inspection. We informed them in writing 9 days before the inspection was due that he was going to be contacting them, but today, the day before it runs out, the tenants have refused to make an appointment.

Can we insist on using this particular engineer regardless, because we are legally required to have the inspection for their safety, or are they entitled to refuse access to someone they doesn't like?

Also, am I now legally required to write to them again 24 hours before making an appointment?
