I have received a bill on the 3rd October for the boarding up of a broken window that occured on the 19 August due to criminal damage. However I did not know anything about this, neither the tenant nor the police telephoned me to let me know.Had I known about the damage I would have boarded up the window myself given the high cost of the call out.Accordingly I feel that I am not responsible as I have entered into no contract for this work to be done by the company involved.I also have to add that at that time I was in the process of evicting this tenant so she was hardly likely to contact me on this matter. how do I stand with this?
