A message was posted by someone called DCO on the 13th december about new legislation for tenancy admin charges and not much was said about it. I did a search on google and found this link It appears the legislation came in to force on 1-10-07 and that we now have to issue certain prescribed information when we raise an invoice for a tenancy administration charge, otherwise the invoice is invalid. I am about to start issuing tenancy admin fees instead of taking deposits so I think we need the RLA legal help on this one. Could the RLA produce a standard tenancy administration form that complies with the legislation? Do we need to use this form for every administraion fee however small? Could we get fined if we don't use this form. I think this needs promoting to the wider audience and in the RLA magazine and at meetings. Also how do we know when our admin fees are REASONBLE?
