I served a section 21 at the start of a tenancy. The tenancy has not run smoothly. I informed the tenants by letter that the tenancy would not be renewed and that as detailed in the section 21 issued at the start of the tenancy they were required to give up possession of the property on the 20th March.
I have just received a letter from Nottingham housing aid telling me the section 21 is invalid as:
1) I did not register the deposit (i did register it with tenancy deposit solutions and informed tenants)
2) The section 21 is not valid as it is dated the 19th November and the tenancy started on the 20th November ( i met the tenant the evening before tenancy started.
Notts housing aid are saying that I need to serve a new section 21 and register the deposit.
Any advice.
