I have engaged an Agent to carry out his recommended works to bring my property to a good standard (for re-letting after previous tenant 'trashed' it).
He advised 4,000 Pounds for all works. That was in Mid-Feb, to have the work all done by end Feb, when he had a tenant ready to move in, and 600 pounds per month.
I had paid up to 3k based on his request & assurances by 24 Feb that 'the workers' had got ahead with the work and all was in order for the new tenant to move in on 1st March.
This was not achieved, because the workers let him down. Only some works are done.
Since more than a month all my correspondence, mails, calls, are unanswered.
Can you advise me what course of actions are open to me?
This Agent is also a member of the RLA, (and recommended me to join because of the assistance I could get).
