I have 2 tenants in a flat. One is moving on and I have another tenant lined up to move in (a friend of the remaining tenant). With regards to their deposit held in the deposit scheme. My question is, how to go about returning the amount to the leaving tenant and replacing from the new. Would I be best to almost start again with the deposit, or addendum the new contract once the new tenant has repaid the old tenant (obviously I would need to make sure this happened).

Many thanks for your advice. This is the first time I have had this happen!
