I have just let my first property. I signed an agreement with the agent (a reputable national chain) and they found a tenant within 24 hours. They verbally assured me that the tenant was employed and were specific that she worked in a shop (and also said she was related to a member of their office staff). We agreed verbally that the tenant could move in, which they did last week. The tenancy agreement was emailed to us this week and it states the tenant is "currently unemployed". This raises a number of issues for me that my insurance does not cover unemployed tenants and of course I am concerned about future payments. I have not yet signed and returned the agreement to the agent. Can you advise my options please? Thank you.
