Hi,

I have four properties and Landlord Insurance that appears at Property Shows gave me quote on a rebuilt value of 70,000 whereas my local Insurance Broker gave me on 90,000. So, I told my local Broker and he adjusted the figure to 70,000 with better terms.

Now, one of my tenants had a Kitchen Fire and damage was over 6,000. So, RSA sent their loss adjuster and he put the rebuilt value of almost 160,000. I complained to RSA and they sent another one who put the value to 140,000 or so.

So, my claim was halved and I am not happy with these loss adjusters putting higher values when a claim is made. If such a huge difference was between the two values, then the insurance company should have objected. My Broker also should have advised me.

What action could be taken in such a situation?
