I have tenants who have been with me for 8 months on a 6 month short hold tenancy agreement. I need to change some clauses in the agreement relating to the new CO2 alarm, not using an open fire and not accessing a balcony. I am wondering whether I need to use an HA30 form or whether I can create a document which we all sign (if they agree) and add to the end of the original agreement. I don't really want to create a new agreement and make them sign for another 6 months.
The other problem is that it seems that an HA30 takes 3 months to take effect. Is this the case, or am I misreading it? It seems strange that even amendments relating to safety, IE. alarms, can only be enforced after 3 month's notice.
Please advise
