Dear Sirs.
I have a tenant who has applied for Housing Benefit. I have no problem with this, however the tenant in questions is on methadone treatment, other tenants have also reported that he is drinking and still using heroin.
My question is that I doubt he will pay the rent to me, on receipt of the 8 weeks rent he is about to receive he would no doubt prefer to spend it on anything, but his habit will take precedence.
SHDC (Spalding Lincs) have told me that his rent cannot be paid to me, naturally Data Protection exists for a good reason, however this makes life for the landlord even more difficult as we have no way of knowing if and when these payments are being made to the tenant.
SHDC is at the moment about 8 weeks behind between receiving a claim and actually giving the rent to the tenant.

many thanks
