A problem tenant lives in a flat complex where the electric bill is given to the owner by the management company to collect from the tenant. This is an ongoing problem for all landlords finding it difficult to collect the electric from the tenants some of whom run up large bills then dissappear.

Would you recommend issuing a section 8 notice or starting county court action now that a tenant has not paid 2 months worth of electric? His actions have also resulted in an electricians bill as he cut the wires to the heat alarm and tampered with the burglar alarm. The electrician said he also saw a Class A drug on the worktop during a visit. He has however, paid his rent.
