I have a housing benefit tenant, who has not kept his part of his contract,ie rental arrears, over 2000. He has his own furniture stored in the garage. The house is rented partially furnished, which it is. He has now sought advice from his lawyer, should I be doing the same? I am aware that two wrongs does not make a right, however, my children, need the cash and yes the sofa is in the inventory, but as far as I am concerned he has not kept his part of the bargin. How can I approach this? He tells me that his wife is taking their sofa when she leaves, which is a lie!!!.( He said that they are separated). Their contract ends in June, but I don't want to wait until then. They have been difficult tenants since last year. I have certainly learnt from this experience. Please advice???
