My Tenant gave notice to leave at the end of the Contract due to wanting a larger property due to preganacy. They signed a new Contract which starts on 11th June with the new Landlord and paid their depost just over a week ago. My Contract with the tenant ends on 18th June.

They have since changed their minds and have told me that they want to stay which would be great as they have been good tenants.
The new landlord is now holding them to the new Contract and told them that they are bound by it and have to move to the new property.
Can he do this? I wouldnt have thought that they would be bound by the new Contract until it actually starts? (They know that they will loose their deposit on the new property and are prepared to do so)
