My tenant has just left. On doing the inventory I found that she had changed the meters to pre paid meters for both gas and electricity without first informing me. I have been told that to change them back I will be charged 52.00 each.

I would love some advice about whether I can/should claim this 104 back via the deposit. I can see that pre paid meters may be a good thing but presume that some tenants will not want to have to charge the cards and may want to benefit from the 5% discount offered for paying by direct debit with conventional meters.

Any thoughts please!
