bond versus advance rent
I have also taken some advanced rent payment for some tenants. Some in addition to the bond and some instead of a bond explaining to the tenant that, for example, "I am taking 2/4 weeks rent in advance which will be for the last two/four weeks of your tenancy after giving notice to vacate."
I have checked the start dates for the tenancies and they are all after the date that I need to protect the bond monies. Can I hold the advance rent money or should the advance rent money be protected along with the bonds?
I realise if it is the case that the money does need to be protected I only have the 30 days from the 6th April 2012 to do so.
