Hi,
We are temporarily re-housing a flood victim while his house is being repaired. The insurance company is paying the rent and the security deposit.

The Insurance company (Rather their nominated accomodation bureau) is insisting that the deposit is registered in their name and must be returned to them at the end. Can this legally be done? Your AST which we use requires any third party who has paid the dpeosit to agree to the Lead tenant (In this cas the only tenant) being responsbile for the deposit.

Any advice would be appreciated.
