I look after a property on behalf of a landlord overseas. The tenant has emailed to say that the hob rings do not ignite with the ignition clicker they have to now use matches. They have said this is not necessarily something that needs fixed but they want to let us know. The landlord has said if they not worried about getting it fixed let them continue to use match. Legally is this correct, can I let them continue using a match or should this ignition be fixed, because if something happened with using match the landlord would be liable etc?

Thanks

Lucy
