I intend to increase the rent charged for my properties.
I have downloaded a copy of the Section 13 form from RLA.
The rents on my properties have remained the same for 5 years now but I feel that I must increase them by £5 per week
The tenancy agreements were Assured shorthold agreements lasting for periods of 6 months.
The tenancy periods have gone past 6 months and I think the agreements are now statutory periodic tenancies.
Am I better giving a months notice of the rent increase now on a section 13 form then signing new agreements with with the tenants at the new rent amounts in a months time?
Alternatively am I better off starting new 6 month contracts now, then increasing the rent using a section 13 form?
