I had a tenant abandon one of my properties and not leave a forwarding address. The 'red' bills have now started arriving from utility companies. I sent a text to the ex tenant asking where they would like the mail sent and they gave me a 'third party' address to send them to and they would be forwarded on from their to the ex tenant.
In your opinion is this the best way to deal with the mail and outstanding utility bills? Or should I open them and supply them with the forwarding address to try and contact the ex tenant?
