I recently witnessed and signed an RLA tenancy agreement for a flat in London. On Wednesday 8th September having met and discussed the prospective Landlord, an RLA Tenancy agreement (of which I have a copy), was completed and duly signed by both parties to commence on 10th September. A deposit of 300 was paid and a receipt given. Over the next 18 hours the landlord was in phone contact to confirm the furnishing that had to be installed. Last night, Thursday 9th September the landlord called to say that the flat was now let by an agent to someone else. Where do I stand in enforcing the contract? It is disappointing to note that the landlord is an RLA member.
