We have issued section 21 on a tenant as landlord needs property back, the tenant occupied on 30th March 2009, the tenancy agreement issued states that it runs from 30th March 2009 and expires 30th September 2009, we issued section 21 on 30th July 2009 asking tenant to vacate on 30th September 2009. Council wrote to us for a reference asking if we would rehouse tenant if we had anything suitable advised we would but advised no propertys on our books that were suitable that would accept DSS and properties like this were rare, the council informed the tenant that she was now not classed as homeless as we had agreed to re house!. The council have now been back on the telephone today to advise they have been through tenants file and section 21 is not valid as dates incorrect and they have advised the tenant to stay put, this is causing problems as landlord needed to be back into this property and is now going to cost him money to get the tenant evicted and leave the tenant with a bad record can the council do this and can you confirm form the dates i have given if the section 21 is invalid.
