Witnesses to tenancy agreement?

Hi there,

Yesterday my first signed her tenancy agreement, which was the one I downloaded from the RLA site. We each signed it, but it didn't appear to require any witnesses. Hpwever, all the agreements I've signed before as a tenant have required there to be witness signatories.

Do we need to get a witness signature to validate the contract? Or in other words, is the agreement invalid without a signatory?

many thanks for your advice.

Secondly - although only I am a member of the RSA, both my wife and I signed the TA as landlords. Does that affect anything?
