Hi

Advice please. Daughter rents a property. The fridge died, and depending on problem the freezer (fridge/freezer) may follow soon.

Has contacted the Letting Agents, who said they would contact the Landlord, who in turn said they would contact a contractor to come out in the next few days to look at it and depending on what is going on, once they got the report from the contractor, will look at what they will do..... to get to a decision on the fridge we are probably looking like a week possibly more - right before Christmas!!

She has already bought a fridge thermometer which has reached 16C inside and rising so clearly is not working. She had double checked that it is turned to cool.

The question is how long is reasonable for her to expect to wait for it to be sorted? This is not like heating in the middle of winter, but she cannot keep anything perishable in there - she does not have a cooler box and it is Christmas next week.

The fridge/freezer is provided by the landlord.
