end of tenancy
can I ask a question on behalf of my son?
His tenancy runs out on Sunday (presumably at 12 noon)
His landlord wants to do the check-out on Saturday as the 3rd party inventory company doesn't work on Sundays. However, my son wants the whole of his tenancy to get the flat clean and in order. He would be happy to return the keys to the landlord on Sunday, or to leave them with Foxton's (the letting agent); then the checkout in terms of the inventory would have to happen one day next week. (In point of fact the check-in also took place a few days after they had moved in)
Is my son correct in standing by this, or does the LL have any rights here?
He doesn't want to annoy the LL, who has not always proven very friendly in the past, but equally he wants the flat to be in good order as he does not want to be in dispute with him.
