Just checking it is OK.....
We have a tenant who has been with us for years and having a deposit did not make sense any more as we don't want to retain any money from this when he leaves. We have therefore decided to give him back his deposit (which was actually one month rent in advance in the contract) rather than insuring it or sending it to the scheme. Our contract no longer has a clause to this effect.
i suppose there is no law forcing us to take a deposit?
