Having inspected my property recently i have found that my electricity meter has been changed to a key meter. I have not agreed to this, having known nothing of the change. Southern Power apparently just came along and changed it.
I know that sometimes this is a good thing as you know as a landlord that the electricity is always paid for however i have noted the cost of it and it appears that i am paying 0.82 pence per day to have the meter. This is using no electricity at all. Surely this is going to put off my tenants and make it hard to find another who is prepared to pay such high costs.
What rights do i have as a landlord to change this meter and is it easy enough to change provider? Being Bank holiday i can't speak to anyone yet.
Thanks
Nicki
