Landlord charges to permit rental
The lease does say that I require the landlords permission to sublet (which should not be unreasonably witheld), but never before with either this or our several other investment flats have we been asked to pay for a licence.
I suspect this is just a revenue raising exercise as it effectively doubles the ground rent we pay them. Are they able to do this especially when we have a managing agent overseeing the tenant to deal with any problems. Is there guidance on what fees we should expect to pay?
