I am letting out bedsits in a property which is heated by the use of a combi boiler.

I am responsible for paying the total bill (an allowance has been made when deciding on the rent for each room)-probably not a wise thing to do considering the recent increase in fuel prices.

At present the usage is controlled by use of the timer which comes with the boiler.

In an effort to prevent misuse of the central heating i.e continuous use during the winter months, can I overide the boiler timer with an externally fitted timer, which is lockable, so that I retain control over the central heating times which would normally be for a few hours in the morning and for a few hours in the evening?
