Hi
The management company of the flat I own have carried out a risk assessment of the flats. They have said that we need to fund the installation of a fire alarm and emergency lighting system into each of the common areas. Each flat has fire doors both internal and external. The flats are three storey with two flats on each level which exit into a lobby which also a fire door leading to the staircase. The flats were purpose built in 1982.
I believe that additional fire precautions and emergency lights are not required because of the high degree of compartmentalisation within the building structure and design.
Am I correct?
