one of my tenant has run into arrears with his electric bill in the region of 1200.00,I had no knowlwdge about it until I went to do a meter reading for another tenant,I saw a red notice from Special Task recovery pined on the cellar door saying that want access to cellar to put a prepayment card meter for the tenant in arrears.I phoned the person and told him that non of the tenants have access to the cellar and that he cannot install the meter in the cellar as the tenant would not able to access the cellarhe,I have no problem if they want to a card meter in his flat, the person was very bullying and said that he will change the lock and will disconnect the electricity.
What are my rights? Can he force me to let him put a meter in the cellar? He said to put a card meter in the flat will cost me 3500.00
Any help and advice will be very much appreciated
thanks
