Purchasing Property ,but Seller died before exchange
I was buying a property as an investment ,I had placed tenant in property , the owner (my mother inlaw) gifted a deposit (witnessed and sighed by a lawyer, required by building society) ,and was due to exchange and complete same day within about 5 days, the seller had also signed deeds of novation , to mitigate SDLT on my part. But unfortunately she died after signing all the papers, there were no more to papers to sign. and I will also be left with legal fees . Can this purchase still go ahead ,IHT of ocourse will need to be settled.
