I took on a new property last week and had arranged for a Gas Engineer to do the Landlord Gas Safety Certificate today. This property had been renovated and a new boiler installed in the loft. When he arrived we realised no ladder was at the property to gain access to the loft. When he finally got up there he said the boards were laid over the joists and not secured down and also there was not a light up there. He was concerned about this and suggested i find out if there is a legal reqirement for this due to it being a tenanted property. Can you advise if these things legally need to be corrected so I can advise the landlord before the tenant moves in on friday ie secure boards, light and a ladder for access.

Thank you
