I own a property next door to a pub which closed down about 12 months ago.The pub was recently bought and refurbished and on visiting my property and after the works had been completed was told that ivy/ wisteria growing from my backyard and onto their property had caused significant damage growing through the flat roof and causing ceilings to be damaged.About half of the flat roof has been re boarded and felted. They are seeking to put the blame onto me.Can you please advise me on the legal position as at any point the previous owners could have asked me to cut the plant back or done so themselves and also the current purchaser will have bought the property as sold as seen.
Regards
