I sent a message to you a couple of weeks ago, after finding out that my new tenant (of 6 weeks) has 3 cats, without our permission. The advise from the RLA was that I would probably not get a repossession order for this, so not to renew the contract after 6 months.
Since then, however,I have found out from the flat manangement company that having cats is breaking the lease of the block of flats. The manager said this tenant would not be given permission to keep the cats by the commitee as there have been a few minor complaints about her, such as leaving the cat litter tray in front of the main entrance. Does this change the advise you would give, as the manager of the flats says WE are liable for the lease rather than the tenant?
thanks, James White
