One of our double bedroom flats is tenanted on an Assured Shorthold Tenancy agreement by a middle aged married couple on housing benefit. Two of their adult offspring and a girl-friend of one of them have now moved into the lounge of the flat. There are now five adults living in this one bedroom flat. Are the couple who are the tenants breaking any law with regard to overcrowding by allowing so many people to live in this one bedroom flat? We would prefer not to have them there as the situation is making some of the other tenants in the block of six flats rather nervous.
