I am thinking of buying a maisonette with a tenant already living there who wishes to remain. I am happy to do this but would like your advice on how to proceed correctly. I am taking out a small mortgage. Does the tenant have to actually vacate the premises at completion or is there a legal way around the vacant possession requirement? Thank you.
