I have a reasonabe tenant in a property in Hull who was receiving LHA until June when the tenant increased the number of hours they worked.
Since then the housing department at Hull city council have not made any further payments due to insufficient evidence from the tenants employer.
Tenant has kept me up to date and I have even spoken with the department in question until today and some officious civil servant started quoting the data protection act and unless the tenant calls them and give them permission to discuss the case with me I am stuffed! However, from close of business today landlords will require the LHA tenants to give permission in writing only a telephone call will no longer be enough! Beware the civil servant.
